Job Summary
The Payroll and Benefits Manager EU/CAN will be responsible for oversight of payroll processing and benefit administration support focused on Canada initially and potential expansion to EMEA. This role has leadership responsibilities at this time which will be fluid with Acuity’s continued growth and expansion into new markets.
The focus of the role will focus on the review of employee data entry, timecard administration, as well as gross to net and tax withholding review. This role will also partner with both third party payroll/tax providers as well as internal stakeholders on the resolution of issues. Benefits responsibilities will include the management of enrollments, terminations, and changes, as well as leave of absence administration. This role will also handle Tier 2 employee questions regarding policies and procedures related to payroll and benefits. This is a fully remote position (Canada based - Quebec preferred) with the ability to work in an Acuity office as needed.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Provide leadership and guidance to payroll and benefit administrators, ensuring that tasks are executed according to expected standards, and that overall service levels are maintained.
Collect data/documentation and maintain the employee files with documentation and ensure data is properly reflected in SAP SuccesFactors.
Accurate and timely review of Employee data changes affecting pay, classification, leave status, shift status, or personal data to ensure accuracy of current information in SAP SuccessFactors, and other local country systems.
Oversee timekeeping administration and policy maintenance for areas of responsibility, including inquiries, updates, and improvements. Provide guidance/training to new hires and managers about timekeeping.
Process payroll and benefit adjustments, ensuring proper backup documentation exists in line with internal control procedures.
Monitor activities, audits, and functional performance to lead continuous improvement and compliance.
Manage benefits enrollments, terminations and other changes and administer leave of absences ensuring proper documentation is received, and that process is administered effectively, keeping all relevant parties informed.
Collect data/documentation and maintain the employee files with documentation and ensure data is properly reflected in SAP SuccesFactors.
Handles Tier 2 employee questions regarding payroll benefits, taxes, leaves, timekeeping, policies, and procedures.
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
5 to 7 years’ experience with payroll and knowledge of benefit administration
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Employee benefits knowledge with the ability to support the associate benefit enrollment processes
Canadian Payroll & Benefit compliance experience is a bonus.
Bilingual proficiency in English and French is required
Detail oriented & Long-term planning skills are critical for the role
Decision making & problem solving experience is important in the role
