About the Department
The Chicago Center for HIV Elimination (CCHE) is situated within theBiological Sciences Division at the University of Chicago Medicine. CCHEaims to eliminate all new HIV transmission events by 2041.
The CCHE mission includes integrated and comprehensive approaches to HIVelimination, including addressing risks associated with drug use andaddiction, and testing interventions to promote harm reduction, testing,and linkage to care. Projects are located throughout the state ofIllinois.
Job Summary
The Manager of Implementation Research will work closely with theDirector of Research to oversee implementation of research projects atChicago Center for HIV Elimination (CCHE). This candidate willfacilitate the design, development, and implementation of researchstudies and provide project management and research support to researchstaff and Principal Investigators. The individual will be responsiblefor creating and maintaining staff policies, submitting job requests,support hiring and for the onboarding of all new research staff. Theywill supervise other research staff working on various studies andengage in administrative tasks related to the research. The positionwill be responsible for communication and collaboration between researchand other teams at CCHE. The manager may be required to support researchprojects by working directly with research participants.
This position is grant funded.
Responsibilities
Works with the CCHE research team, Center Director and PrincipalInvestigators to implement research at CCHE.Leads efforts to execute scopes for various research projects atCCHE.Ensures compliance with requirements of funding sources (e.g.,submitting program plans, providing progress reports, final reports,etc.).Supports compliance with human subjects research (supportdevelopment of IRB protocols and submissions).Facilitates the design, development, and implementation of researchstudy protocols.Supports hiring - conducts phone screens, coordinates and schedulesinterviews and conducts reference checks.Supervises Research Staff as assigned.Acts as a resource on the basics of clinical research and relatedaspects of clinical study for colleagues with less experience.Prepares and evaluates writing protocols, IRB submissions, grantapplications, manuscripts, reports, and dissemination tools.Solves complex problems relating to data management and the analysisof large administrative datasets. Works independently to develop,manage, and report on key data and ensures timeliness of data andreporting submissions from multiple investigators.Acts as a resource on the basics of clinical research and relatedaspects of clinical study for colleagues with less experience.Prepares and evaluates writing protocols, IRB submissions, grantapplications, manuscripts, reports, and dissemination tools.Performs other related work as needed.Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in relatedfield.
