Overall Summary: The Manager of Accounting manages IWCO's Accounts Payable department. They are responsible for treasury management and completion of general accounting activities, including month-end projects. Supervisory Responsibilities: The person in this role provides leadership and supervision to a team of professionals in the Account Payable department that are responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and executing regular accounting activities. Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Support the preparation, analysis and presentation of timely and accurate financial, treasury, tax and debt compliance information internally and externally as required. Consolidate and coordinate financial P&L information from multiple locations across the U.S. Manage the month-end closing process and related reporting; ensure accurate financial results, meaningful financial analysis and the completion of all requirements within corporate timelines. Coordinate activities in preparation for periodic audits. Analyze and interpret financial results; monitor performance against budget and forecasted results. Provide financial information to departments; assist in resolving questions and issues both internally and externally. Prepare and review a monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts; conduct trend analysis to determine accuracy, completeness and appropriateness of balances. Assist with technical accounting matters, which includes the research of unusual or complex accounting transactions. Assist in the evaluation of accounting policies and procedural control systems and continuously improve effectiveness and compliance. Ensure that record systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Coordinate daily banking activity and prepare daily cash management reports. Manage cash disbursements and cash application processes to ensure accuracy, completeness and reasonableness in accordance with Company policy. Support the accurate and timely preparation of annual budget and monthly forecasts. Communicate with all levels of management regarding fiscal policies and provide direction in the implementation of these policies. Recommend new or revised systems and processes to improve departmental efficiency. Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to direct reports. Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations. Develop and implement effective retention and succession plans. Develop and implement departmental goals and organization development. Build the internal and cross functional relationships to achieve ongoing and transparent communication necessary that ensures the team success. Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations. Coach and develop direct reports. Promote safety as a number one priority. Perform daily payroll functions; make applicable corrections, enter and manage PTO for dire t reports. Perform other (or other related) duties as applicable or assigned. Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies: Demonstrated ability to implement and maintain complex accounting systems. Microsoft Office proficiency, especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Well-developed financial analysis capabilities. Ability to respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies, external firms and other managers. Strong analytical, mathematical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Strong time management, organizational, and customer-service skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines; ability to adapt to change. Proven ability to quality deliver results in high stress situations. Excellent communication and listening skills; ability to develop positive and collaborative relationships. Initiative to seek out internal resources to learn products, services, and processes. Open to reinforcing and redirecting feedback, with the ability to adjust behavior accordingly. Demonstrated success developing team using strong leadership and talent development strategies. Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years' experience progressive accounting experience. 2+ years' experience as Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller or comparable experience. Certified Public Accountant strongly preferred. Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred. Knowledge of finance, accounting, public company compliance, budgeting, forecasting and regulatory requirements. Physical Requirements: Ability to work 8 hours consecutively.
