As a reflection of our continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity to join our Marketing team as Manager, Marketing Strategy to support the Aspen Dental brand.
We are adding a strategic planning professional to our Aspen Dental marketing team to support our growing priorities, initiatives, and commitments to the organization. We’re looking for an energetic, collaborative, organized professional who is familiar with strategic planning, marketing strategy and typical marketing programs and competencies to help us plan, manage and drive to completion high priority, strategic initiatives. This role will report to the Chief Marketing Officer and support the service line marketing team across general dentistry, hygiene, dentures, implants and clear aligners, working on multiple projects and initiatives across the Marketing organization.
The Manager, Marketing Strategy is a critical role serving as a strategic partner to the service line team and a liaison between various marketing teams and partners to manage the planning, process and execution of key strategic initiatives related to category and business growth and development. The manager oversees and manages projects through completion often managing multiple initiatives simultaneously. The manager is responsible for monitoring progress, keeping stakeholders informed and ensuring projects meet deadlines.
Essential Responsibilities
Support the strategic and operational planning process, partnering with the service line marketers and broader marketing team to develop short and long-term strategies, initiatives and investments required
Create structure and focus for broad, ambiguous ideas that the service line teams are exploring, analyze and bring forth recommendations for action in a timely manner
Develop detailed plans for key initiatives and support service line marketers to drive and execute on initiatives
Own and continuously improve team operating cadence (e.g., Weekly Business Review, Performance Meetings, Full Team Meetings, etc.)
Support leadership meetings by owning the planning, agenda, notes and action items
Provide support on key strategic initiatives across the team (e.g., research, analytics, modeling, expansion efforts, partnerships, etc.)
Drive team integration and collaboration through the establishment of tools and processes that maintain status and enable communication across the team, extending to key cross functional partners and agencies
Look across category and marketing initiatives and ‘connect the dots’, including identifying dependencies, barriers, and risks and working with stakeholders to solve
Plan, direct and coordinate initiatives to ensure on-time completions within budget –
Create and maintain effective initiative plans
Forecast deficiencies and unrealistic expectations while identifying solutions
Evaluate specifications to determine requirements necessary for success - Proactively handle project issues and/or risks
Develop presentations and updates for the Marketing leadership team
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements/Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required. Marketing, Business Management, Communications, or related field preferred
5+ years of related experience
2-3 years of management consulting or strategy experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to create structure and process for large cross-functional teams
Detail-oriented with excellent organization and planning skills
Proven leadership skills, ability to interact with all levels of the organization and ability to influence without authority
Ability to look across functional teams and identify potential interdependencies and risks
Takes ownership and drives forward amidst ambiguity while also building relationships and alignment
Desire to be part of a growth-oriented team and culture
Positive and gritty attitude while establishing effective professional relationships
Experience running strategic / brand planning process a plus
Ability to ruthlessly prioritize in a time-crunched, fast-paced environment
Strong critical and creative thinking, problem structuring and strategic problem-solving skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects at once and operate in a high degree of ambiguity
Salary: $125-145k with bonus opportunity
