Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
The Manager Manufacturing performs his roles and missions , by delegation of the PRMA :
• Provides industrial control of the products and programs over part of the life cycle: Manufacturing with the process "Manufacture” and “Repair & Overall”.
• The Manufacturing Manager within the Programme Team (PROMPT),
• Guarantees the maintenance and the improvement of the manufacturing process to ensure, in compliance with safety, the production at target cost, capability and capacity.
• The guarantor of the production and repair, of the equipment, in accordance with the customer's expectations and the regulations in force, and in compliance with the Programme commitments in terms of cost, quality and time.
• Coordinates the manufacturing and MRO activities,
• Represents the PRMA for all manufacturing aspects in relation to all its internal interfaces (Programs, Navigability, Purchasing, Quality, and Operational Safety Support) and external (customers, partners, suppliers, organizations).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Control industrial risks and ensure the course of treatment plans and their effectiveness,
• Participate to the various programme and project organisations,
• Create an environment that promotes positive employee relations, teamwork, and continuous improvement and provide communication to teams on key performance indicators.
• Responsible for achieving operational performance, including all manufacturing personnel performance, on-time delivery, and quality standards.
• Plan, monitor and adhere to Operating and Equipment budgets.
• Responsible for all regulatory and company requirements regarding health and safety within department, working in conjunction with Human Resources and the HSE Coordinator. Develop and maintain health and safety work instructions and protocols and deploy training for department specific HSE risks as per OHSA. Actively participate on the HSE Site Management Committee and in annual Health and Safety Audits as a key point of contact for your functional area. Leading incident/accident investigations to identify root causes, trends, prevention strategies. Fostering and supporting an effective and proactive safety culture of internal responsibility that focuses on incident prevention, regulatory compliance and accountability for employee Health and Safety at all levels.
• Participate in manufacturability review of new designs including process validation review.
• Implement continuous quality and productivity improvement initiatives in a Lean environment.
• Implement process measures and analyse process data, championing root cause analysis and resolution of production process problems as well as improvement of the couple product/process (QRQC, Change process, 8D),
• Track, expedite and report on work-in-process to maintain schedule integrity through cooperative efforts with Planning.
Complementary Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage product configurations in Manufacturing and assist with new product introductions. Bring contribution to define all the industrial constraints (manufacturability, processes, means) and that the Return of Experience (RETEX) is taken into account
• Validate component assembly and placement to engineering documents/drawings.
• Manage multiple priorities to achieve excellence in quality, customer service and profitability.
• Administrate, develop, implement and monitor the appropriate training, re-training and cross training activities within the department
• Ensure that manufacturing staff have the required tools and resources to perform their tasks, including latest revision drawings, travellers and work instructions.
• Lead, coach and mentor manufacturing staff to maximize quality, cost and delivery performance while monitoring and reporting absenteeism, tardiness, and work performance issues including progressive discipline to termination with HR assistance.
• Develop economic and budgetary elements related to medium and long-term load forecasts (MPT), cost reduction plans (COS, Inventory), and maintenance and improvement of the manufacturing process,
• Validate the estimates of manufacturing and support,
• Carries out the necessary work to manage the end of production (overstocks, obsolescence, means) according to the requirements Programme and Supply Chain.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, ideally in electronics or aerospace environment
• Good understanding of Lean/Flow Manufacturing and Process Improvement with the ability to implement
• Experience with MRP, inventory control, capacity planning, scheduling and work order analysis
• Experience in effectively planning and monitoring operational and equipment budgets
• Understanding of ISO 9000/2000 and AS 9100 with the ability to train and implement
• Experience in labour relations in a unionized environment
• Knowledge of applicable Health and Safety regulations (OHSA & Safran Group HSE)
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, organization, computer, coaching and facilitation
