About the Job:
An opportunity has arisen for a Housekeeping Manager to join our Housekeeping team at Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab. The main duties and responsibilities of this role:
Supporting to set up the function and role during Pre-Opening phase.
Working closely between the Hotel and our Residences to support any operational needs
To be responsible for the supervision and coordination of the Housekeeping Attendants by making sure that these services are available and carried out with the utmost efficiency.
To study and evaluate the operation of the Housekeeping Department and suggest improvements to the Executive Housekeeper.
To assign duties and responsibilities to subordinates, assisting the Housekeeping Attendants in their duties.
To check the Linen Room and pantry areas to ensure the smooth flow of the guest supplies, uniform, and linen.
To maintain a record of Planned Preventive Maintenance cleaning work i.e., window cleaning, carpet shampooing, mattress turning, bedspread cleaning, blanket cleaning and general rooms cleaning.
To follow-up on all out of order rooms.
To ensure correct distribution and control of master keys.
To conduct inspections of corridors, service areas, pantries, staircases and Public Area toilets to ensure proper cleaning.
To take note of "In house VIPs and arriving VIPs.
To ensure that all suites and rooms are inspected thoroughly.
To ensure that all equipment is well maintained and handled correctly.
To handle guest complaints in accordance with the hotel policy, reporting all complaints to the Executive Housekeeper.
To check the logbooks and follow up on outstanding matters.
To assist in taking various inventories.
About you:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
Ideally Pre-Opening experience, experience on setting up any related systems or structures in the role | department.
Able to work with tight deadlines and under pressure due to intensive preopening phase.
Minimum of 3 years work experience as an assistant executive housekeeper or housekeeping manager at a luxury hotel with high volume.
Experience in managing outsourced labor.
To have an eye for detail.
Intermediate level – Microsoft Office applications.
Competent in OPERA version 5.
High level of written and verbal business English.
Demonstrate the ability to acquire attributes such as leadership, problem solving, training and developing subordinates, goal setting and goal oriented.
