Amazon’s Technology Sourcing and Infrastructure team (TSI) is seeking a People Manager for Global Logistics that is focused on the optimization of the global supply chain for technology hardware. This role will establish and maintain a strategic and rounded roadmap tied to the rhythm of the Corporate Infrastructure Buildouts (CIB) and AV (Audio Visuals) business and set operational direction across a diverse range of projects and initiatives.
As the logistics manager you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the logistics and supply chain operations of the Infrastructure organization. This is a critical role in creating a global logistics strategy to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery (flow of products) from our suppliers to our corporate sites around the world.
Key job responsibilities
People Management: Lead and manage a team of global logistics professionals. Provide guidance, training, and performance evaluations to team members.
Transportation Management: You will oversee the selection and management of transportation providers (e.g., carriers, freight forwarders). Plan and optimize transportation routes to reduce costs and delivery times. Own logistics supplier strategic relationships with new and existing suppliers to drive improvements in key business areas and act as a point of contact for critical issues.
Supply Chain Management: Develop, propose and implement strategies to manage the entire supply chain, from procurement to distribution and delivery. Collaborate with internal partner teams as well as external entities like suppliers, manufacturers, brokers and distributors to ensure a smooth flow of materials and products.
Supplier Management: Develop and conduct commercial review of logistics suppliers' Service Level Agreements (SLA) and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) metrics in accordance with business requirements and budgets, including cost improvement, establishing specifications, defining performance terms and/or acceptance criteria, and auditing for compliance. Develop cost-savings through contract negotiations with logistics suppliers and service providers.
Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including customs, safety, and environmental standards. Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and implement necessary changes. Develop/maintain comprehensive contracts with our logistics suppliers, including compliance with all regulatory requirements and corporate policies.
Risk Management: Research and identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans and act as subject matter expert for in-house business partners. Lead the mitigation of risks related to disruptions, delays, and other logistical issues through the development of tools and processes that proactively mitigate risks and provide transparency.
Data Analysis: Collaborate with data analytics team to develop and utilize data driven reporting tools to track and analyze key logistics metrics for root cause analyses. Make data-driven decisions to optimize logistics processes.
Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in logistics operations and implement best practices. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the logistics department.

7+ years of supply chain experience
5+ years of team management experience
5+ years of cross functional project delivery experience
5+ years of program or project management experience
Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
