　　Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, an affiliate of RWJBarnabas Health, is a fully accredited acute care hospital dedicated to providing the finest medical and health care services to the residents of Ocean and Monmouth counties.

　　The Manager of Environmental Servicesmanages the EVS Department in absence of the Director. They assist with establishing policies and procedures, objectives, work standards and Patient Satisfaction initiatives. They maintain quality control and compliance with regulatory agencies, they directly manage lead personnel, and manage daily department standards.

　　Responsibilities:

　　Maintains positive relationships with all customers, employees, physicians, patients, visitors, and guests. Utilizes a variety of feedback to improve processes and services to meet and exceed customer needs

　　Demonstrates sound employee relations practices and maintains high levels of visibility and accessibility. Follows through on all customer requests and inquiries in a timely fashion

　　Utilizes principles of CQI in all work situations

　　Contributes to improving quality services and productivity. Takes the initiative to continually evaluate one's work, report problems, suggest solutions and try new ideas

　　Able to project and appropriately staff the unit/department to effectively function to demand

　　Utilizes resources, both labor and non-labor to maximize efficiency and quality

　　Adheres to budgetary guidelines and targets-proactively manages budget variances and causes

　　Follows sound employee retention techniques; effective selection and interviewing, recognition, fair and timely discipline, and ongoing performance feedback

　　Interacts constructively, tactfully and diplomatically with others and resolves conflicts effectively. Demonstrates cultural competency and the ability to maintain a diverse workforce

　　Completes tasks and assignments in a timely, accurate and efficient manner

　　Remains positive and focused despite obstacles and setbacks

　　Demonstrates a sense of urgency in completing assignments

　　Organizes multiple assignments and/or projects simultaneously to accomplish goals

　　Assists in the interviewing, selection, promotion and termination of staff per established policies

　　Responds to staff issues and grievances

　　Ensures that disciplinary process is administered per policy

　　Inspects and evaluates the physical condition of the hospital

　　Makes recommendations concerning painting, repairs, furnishings, furniture, relocation of equipment, and allocation of space to improve sanitation, appearance and efficiency

　　Investigates and evaluates new housekeeping supplies and equipment and makes recommendations to the director

　　Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and supervises daily functions and activities of the EVS

　　Requirements:

　　High School Diploma required

　　BABS Degree preferred

　　Courses in Management or Hospital Housekeeping highly preferred

　　Knowledge of hospital operations and specific kinds of housekeeping is required

　　Knowledge of housekeeping equipment, supplies, chemicals and agents

　　Management and supervisory skills required

　　Sufficient administrative experience in a hospital or similar setting

　　Ability to utilize and or establish computer based department specific work programs and procedures i,e, thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel in addition to automated timekeeping system
