Job Overview:
Here's your chance to step into the role of Manager - Entertainment Technical at Motiongate a part of Dubai Holding Entertainment. In this position, you'll take on key responsibilities that include:
Responsible for the technical operations of entertainment including but not limited to lighting, sound, video/media, special f/x, staging, pyro and construction. Working knowledge of techniques, methods and procedures of theatre, dance, music and other types of entertainment productions. Imparts technical training to staff.
FUNCTIONAL
Develops designs of all technical aspects of each production, for daily operations and maintenance.
Designs optimum show control features for each performance venue
Collaborates very closely with Production Manager and Show Director to achieve desired creative goals.
Manages scheduling and placement of the entertainment technical team
Directs the operations and maintenance of the technical assets with safety of people and equipment at mind.
Manages technical bid packages, bids, awards and contracts.
Leads the technical development of all special events
FINANCIAL
Prepare and present inputs related to organizational/ departmental/ project budgets to the next reporting line.
Manage and control the actual cost verses budget on periodic basis and provide financial reports/data related to the department/ divisional/ project’s financial performance.
Collaborates with Production Manager and Show Director to create cost effective budgets for each production.
PROCESS
Develop and implement policies, procedures and processes for the respective function/department and ensure reviewing and keeping the existing ones updated as part of the ‘continuous process improvement’.
|Maintains library of SOP’s, training manuals and tech documents.
Manage implementation of relevant electronic systems to bring efficiency and effectiveness existing processes.
Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established DPR policies, procedures, training and team member involvement activities
Set objectives/ KPIs/ milestones for the respective department/ function and conduct appraisals for direct reporters on Electronic Performance Management System.
LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT
Ensure that team members are provided learning and career development opportunities by identifying successors within the team, preparing them for the next accountable roles and recommending them for external trainings whenever required in consultation with HR Department.
Ensure that productivity and service delivery of the department is improved on continuous basis by keeping team members motivated and retained.
Creates cross training programs and temporary promotional opportunities.
Any other duties as may be reasonably requested by the Management Team
About you:
The preferred candidate for this role should possess the following experience and credentials:
7+ years of theatrical, theme park, cruise ship or relevant experience.
Experience in Dante, Qsys and Medialon in Entertainment and/or Hospitality industry.
