  JOB SUMMARY

  The Manager, Team Member Relations & Compliance is a critical member of the HR leadership team and is responsible for all employee relations activities including policy and compliance, workplace investigations, accommodations, and performance and conduct coaching. This role will lead the Team Member Relations team (TMR) to delivery timely, consistent, and compliant Team Member Relations services companywide. The Manager, Team Member Relations & Compliance extensively partners with HR and senior leaders to proactively identify opportunities, provide data driven insights, and guide leaders to address team member behavior and performance. This role plays a key part in the development of leaders relative to performance coaching, compliance and performance management.

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES Estimated % of Time Spent

  Team Member Relations Management

  Responsible for managing all team member relations processes and procedures including the timely and consistent resolution of team member concerns (investigations), accommodations, employee conduct and performance issues.

  Collaborates closely with HRBPs, and other business partners through a consultative approach to help assess organization effectiveness, make recommendations, and develop and implement action plans that drive employee engagement, performance, retention, and development

  Work with HR partners and Senior Leaders to provide applicable training and consultation in a broad range of team member relations issues including accommodations, performance coaching, conduct violations, terminations, leadership development, compliance, etc.

  Develop, implement, and maintain current program objectives, policies, and procedures, with a continuous process improvement mindset

  Accountable for establishing key performance indicators for the Team Member Relations team and leading the team to met established goals.

  Analyze data, identify trends in employee relations metrics and propose relevant solutions.

  Act as subject matter expert, in collaboration with legal, on employee-related legislative and regulatory changes, and ensure changes to rules and regulations are restructured with HR systems, policies, processes, and practices.

  Develop and drive team member relations projects and goals

  Compliance Management

  Responsible for drafting policy, process, and procedure to improve compliance of the organization, including annual handbook update

  Collaborate with other functional areas in the delivery of compliance programs and training to employees

  Research changes in laws and regulations analyze their impact on the organization and communicate findings to leadership

  Train HR function & leaders on applicable regulations and policy changes

  Develop and drive compliance projects and goals

  Escalation and Case Management

  Directly handles escalated and complex investigations.

  Directly handles performance and/or conduct issues involving senior level leaders (District Manager/Director/Sr. Director/VP/RVP)

  Act as Team Member Relations Partner for corporate leadership

  ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS

  The Manager, Team Member Relations and Compliance leads a team of Team Member Relations partners, and works closely with Legal, Loss Prevention, field leadership, the greater HR team, and other critical functional teams and leaders.

  REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  Deep knowledge of employee relations practices and employment laws, as well as a keen ability to maintain a balanced and impartial viewpoint.

  Knowledge of State and Federal laws, regulations and requirements related to HR including ERISA, EEO, LOAs, ADA, Worker's Compensation, COBRA, Wage & Hour and others.

  Ability to lead, develop, and inspire a high performing customer focused team.

  Skilled performance coach and leadership consultant.

  Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  Strong presentation and public speaking skills.

  Solutions oriented with a focus on process optimization.

  Ability to persuade and influence diverse audiences and manage through adversity with tact and political acumen.

  Ability to collect, analyze and interpret data for a various levels of audiences.

  Minimum Educational Level/Certifications

  Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related fieldMinimum Work Experience and Qualifications

  5+ years of experience in Employee Relations

  1+ years of direct people leadership

  1+ years of compliance experience

  Employee relations experience in California

  Experience working in a multi-unit organization

  Physical Demands/ Environmental Conditions

  May be required to work at a computer or on the phone for extended periods.

  Must be able to work variable hours (e.g., nights and weekends) on occasion.

  Travel Requirement

  Requires up to 10% travel by car and/or airplane.

  Overnight travel may be required.

  PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  Experience in an HR Manager or Business Partner roleEducational Level/Certifications

  Member of AWI

  SHRM-CP, PHR, SPHR.

  Work Experience and Qualifications

  Experience leading employee relations in California

  Previous experience in restaurants, retail, or fitness

  Previous experience in developing and conducting training

  Compensation Summary

  Average of 30 hours or more per week: Medical/Dental/Vision Benefits, Paid Time Off, and Sickness Benefits (in addition to the above).

  Actual offer may vary from posted hiring range based on location, work experience, and/or education.

  Salary range will vary based on geography of the applicant.Pay Range for Los Angeles, Orange County and Seattle: $109,854.00-$126,213.00 (Exempt), $52.81-$60.68 (Non-Exempt)Pay Range for Bay Area (California) & New York City (incl. New Jersey): $114,630.00-$131,700.00 (Exempt), $55.11-$63.32 (Non-Exempt)Pay Range for San Diego & Carlsbad (California) and all other locations: $103,167.00-$118,530.00 (Exempt), $49.60-$56.99 (Non-Exempt)
