Job Summary:
• Manages emergency services transport activities and resources.
Responsibilities:
• Develops specific departmental goals, standards and objectives. • Assesses quality of patient care and coordinates patient care services with patients, staff, physicians,
and other departments.
• Develops specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic
plan and vision of the organization.
• Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts and vendor relations.
Complexity of Work:
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal
supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Personal Protective Equipment:
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Minimum Qualifications/Licensure / Certification / Registration:
• Required Credential(s):
• Paramedic credentialed from the New York Department of Health Bureau of Emergency Medical Services
and Trauma System obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• One or more of the following:
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart
Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Preferred Credential(s):
• Certification specializing in ER Vehicle Operation.
• Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of
Pediatrics (AAP).
• Drivers License credentialed from the New York Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
• Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians
(NREMT).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the New York Board of Nursing.
Education:
• High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's
degree/Technical degree with 2 years of experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific
experience required. 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
