ServiceNow is seeking an experienced Manager for our Database team.
You should have experience with large-scale database (Oracle) environments and a knack for problem-solving and optimization of databases, applications, and performance issues. Qualified candidates will be responsible for leading a small team of highly skilled Oracle DBAs across 2 regions.
What you get to do in this role:
Lead a team of DBAs that would engineer database solutions and automate daily operational tasks
Assist the team with technical problems and incidents when necessary.
Drive initiatives with partner teams to improve the reliability and performance of the infrastructure through improved system design.
Work with the teams to fulfill/manage on-call duties.
Work with adjudicated engineers to maintain/build Oracle instances for regulated market customers.
To be successful in this role you have:
Comfortable working in a fast paced, 24/7 production environment supporting critical, real-time applications.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to maintain a professional demeanor when handling complex user issues.
Must have 7 + years of experience on Oracle Database administration activities.
5+ years of Linux experience in an intensive, high-traffic, web-based, multi-threading applications on multi-core architecture environment
The ability to Identify and address technical issues within our customers infrastructure and drive to service restoration ( MTTR)
Must have expert level knowledge in Oracle 19c and above; Knowledge in MySQL /MariaDB / PostgreSQL will be a plus
Experience in backup/recovery/failover methods and best practices.
Experience in scripting languages, such as PHP, Shell, Perl, Python, etc.
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science, Computer Science or similar areas or equivalent work experience

For positions in California (outside of the Bay Area), we offer a base pay of $123,800 - $216,500, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs (subject to eligibility requirements). Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located, and is subject to change based on work location.
