Together, we won't stop!The Manager, Data Governance is responsible for one or more functional areas supporting Data Management and Governance capabilities. Functional areas may include DM&G Product Management, DevOps, Delivery and Domain Stewardship. They are recognized as DM&G authorities driving the overall daily execution of DM&G capabilities. They support the organizational goals of embedding DM&G policies and standards into T-Mobile's management of data through functional leadership and delivery.Responsibilities:Leads a Data management team and is responsible to establish and embed formal Data Governance framework, procedures, and processes within the existing and future strategic projects.Responsible for defining and implementing data protection strategy and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.Partner with business areas, CDO and Data Privacy Lead to ensure data security related requirements are addressed for new projects and data initiatives.Leading and evolving the Data Governance framework including leading the objectives, approach, processes, policies, and procedures around data governance.Build a robust data governance framework to drive a demonstrable improvement in data quality across all in-scope data.Work with data strategy, legal/privacy, and function/marketing teams to establish and maintain data policies and standards that enable use-cases and ensure legal/ethical compliance.Regularly monitor the industry landscape for innovations and trends in the Data Management and Governance space and update the organization standard processes as necessary.Provide expert consultative innovative guidance in the DM&G areas.Ability to select the right Tools and Technology for implementing the Data Governance Standards.Supporting the migration of data from legacy sources to strategic toolsets.Evaluate any potential data tools/products with a focus on complying to requirements as laid down by the regulators.Balancing and delivering against the priorities and drivers of the shareholdersConduct training sessions with a broad range of constituents on the policy, standards, processes, and technology.Collaborating with authorities in key areas of the business to align business rules and goals with implementation.Collaborating with IT and Data Architects to provide technology requirements to support data governance processes.Investigate any data security events and propose remedial actions.Build and lead a Data Governance Team which includes mentorship, setting goals, hiring talent.Empower and retain the team to deliver the Data Governance initiatives.Strong customer centric attitudeLeading and working with geo-distributed team is a plus.Managing Data Governance teams operating at scale.Embedding industry standard Data Governance processes into existing strategic projects and initiating new Data Quality initiatives.Provide advice and mentorship on opportunities and matters related to data sharing internally within the organization and external data sharing for monetization use cases.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Understanding of how strategic business requirements align with data privacy and security requirements.Good understanding of data governance policies and standards and hands on experience of measuring the compliance against these
