DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES Displays strong interpersonal relationship skills toconnect and communicate a positive and productive work environment withoperations, management, and staff. Provides a strong leadership role forthe Safety Steering Team to help guide and implement our continuousimprovement of safety culture. Helps determine priorities for new orimproved processes, supports continuous improvement teams, and promotesthe success and safety metrics throughout the organization. Uses metricsto maintain the health of continuous improvement initiatives anddevelops an evolving dashboard to communicate safety performance acrossthe Company. Mentors Safety staff and Safety champions throughout theCompany to drive positive change. Coordinates case management ofemployee injuries with Human Resources\' assistance. Provides a processand training for individuals to utilize MGE resources, such as Briotixathletic trainers to proactively manage sprains and strains. Develops,recommends, implements, and administers safety policies, programs, andprocedures that serve to ensure the health and safety of Company andcontractor employees in all of MGE operations. This includes thedevelopment and maintenance of the MGE Safety Manual. Leads effectivecorporate health and safety training across all operations. Developscurriculum consistent with regulatory requirements and cultureinitiatives. Delivers and/or supervises the delivery of training. Tiessafety culture topics in with technical training. Maintains detailedknowledge of safety- and health-related federal, state, and local laws,codes, and regulations through attendance at seminars and meetings ofprofessional organizations and via reading publications. Communicatesregulatory interpretations as needed across the Company. Leads thesafety portion of Safety and Environmental Affairs\' emerging issuesprocess to anticipate/communicate trends and regulatory changes.Coordinates various accident-prevention programs and safety consultingservices and programs requiring interaction with employees at all levelsand the public. Completes safety-related Occupational Safety and HealthAdministration (OSHA) logs and paperwork required by law. AssistsCompany personnel in completing required accident report forms andrelated paperwork.
