About Management & Program Analyst

  Summary The ideal candidate has strong organizational and communication skills, handles sensitive information with discretion, has a strong understanding of government operations, able to analyze, and present information to support decision making. Responsibilities What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will serve as a senior program analyst and special assistant to executives within the Office of the Regional Administrator. Typical assignments include: Developing tools and products to support management on evaluating productivity and improving communication and efficiency across the entire Regional office. Monitoring and reporting on the progress of work, reviewing completed work, assessing to see that deadlines and quality have been met. Serving as a coach, facilitator, and/or negotiator in coordinating team initiatives and in consensus building activities among team members. Identifying and pursuing opportunities for improving regional policies and operations. Pursuing policy, procedural, or funding changes with appropriate resource managers to effect resource efficiency and integration improvements. Supporting the management and operation of the Office of the Regional Administrator. This includes implementing protocols for important engagements with senior leaders and seeking information from across the region to develop and organize materials for executive engagements and decision making. Overseeing the Regional Action Office, which includes receiving tasks from higher level components, communicating across divisions to obtain information, and ensuring that regional deadlines are being met. Providing executive level assistance to the Regional Administrator, Deputy Regional Administrator, and Chief of Staff. What else do I need to know? Qualifications Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The time-in-grade and qualification requirements must be met within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for this position at the GS-13 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following: Evaluating, analyzing, and improving program processes; and Creating analytical tools or reports to aid in decision making; and Drafting correspondence and delivering briefings to leadership.
