JOB SUMMARY
A Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping a facility operating and repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen. A Maintenance Technician will usually be required to perform a wide range of repair tasks around a facility.
Pay: $21.64 an hour- approx. $45,000 annual.
FSLA: Non-exempt, eligible for overtime.
Schedule: 2 openings- 1) Sunday-Thursday 9am-5pm (off Friday & Saturday) or 2) Thursday-Monday 12am-8am (off Tuesday & Wednesday)
Location: Eastchester neighborhood, Bronx NY
JOB-RELATED DUTIES – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
These duties are essential and specific to the successful implementation of this position.Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door, or wall repair
Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures.
Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs
Maintaining the building HVAC equipment to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly.
Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped.
Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
Other responsibilities may be assigned.
Qualifications
What do I need to apply?
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED preferred. Three years of experience in maintenance or a related field may be substituted for high School diploma or GED equivalent.
Communication: Proficiency in English required. Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus.
Reasoning Ability: make judgment calls, perform proper notifications, and make appropriate decisions.
Physical : Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects, walk distances, and climb stairs.
