  Job Summary:

  This position covers many departments pertaining to requested repairs, upkeep and preventative maintenance; people skills, planning, execution, control, and communication

  are essential to completing the assigned tasks efficiently as well as keeping the department informed on work status. We expect skill-based knowledge to be used in a professional

  manner to make competent decisions with a focus on both the interests of our customers and the resort as well as quality of work. Vail Resorts’ core values are necessary to succeed in this function.

  Job Specifications:

  Expected Pay Range: $22.00 - $25.49 / hour

  Shift Availability: Full Time, Year Round

  Skill Level: Intermediate

  Job Responsibilities:

  Maintain all facilities and operation systems in a safe and efficient working order (i.e. auto doors, exit doorways, required snow/garbage removal)

  Inspect facilities on a regular basis, using a standard checklist. Inspections include lights, appliances, plumbing, interior building structure (doors, windows, walls, and floors), heating and ventilation systems, smoke and fire alarm systems, etc. Shoveling, plowing, snowblowing snow outdoors in winter and cutting grass and landscaping in summer months.Deal with a variety of emergency or unusual problems that may arise.

  Assist with preventative maintenance in common areas, guest rooms, and building equipment.

  Managing time efficiently and professionally during guest issues and project deadlines. Self motivated to complete tasks during pssoble solo work shifts and communicate properly to the rest fo the team via email for issues needing attention the next day.

  Preferred trade skills: Confident in atleast 3 of the following skills. Carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing and mechanical/hvac, electrical, diagnostic and troubleshooting, irrigation, minor electrical, landscaping, snow removal.

  Skid steer or equipment experience - preferred.

  Plowing experience - preferred.

  Able to work days and nights but this positon typically has the same weekends once the schedule is set.

  Ability to troubleshoot issues individually when needed.

  Attend to any work orders and both guest and departmental/employee requests and be accountable for all time worked for billing procedures

  Complete assigned tasks in a safe and timely manner

  Provide for safe disposal of all waste material

  Work with outside contractors to provide necessary improvements or maintenance as directed

  Maintain records of all work activities and support materials through internal work order program

  Provide written reports to other departments as needed

  Other duties as assigned

  Job Physical Requirements:

  Exposure to inclement weather conditions.

  Ability to work standing for long periods of time; ability to lift and carry heavy objects, bending, squatting.

  Use of ladders to access equipment rooms throughout the property.

  Ability to work around motors, pumps, gear boxes, boilers, etc. Work will be performed around potentially moving parts requiring safety precautions to be taken.

  Must be able to shovel snow and chip ice from multiple hours.

  Must be in good physical condition.

  Must be able to lift 50lbs

  Job Qualifications:

  High school diploma or trade school degree

  At least 3 years of relevant work experience and/or trades training, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.

  Prior building maintenance experience - required

  Valid driver’s license - required

  Must be able to pass the companies Motor Vehicle Records check prior to being hired.

  Good basic knowledge and skills in the building/construction trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting/construction trades, smoke/fire alarm systems, snow removal, heating and ventilation systems, buidling automation systems, cutting grass/landscaping, etc.

  Great verbal and computer communication skills and follow through on projects and taks is a must.

  Ability to deal with guests in a courteous and effective manner.

  Ability to use general office equipment

  The expected pay range is $22.00 - $25.49. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
