OVERVIEW
The MaintenancePlanner is responsible for all aspects of planning, scheduling, and forecasting the maintenance needs for the 24/5 Non Refinery Operations at Buffalo, NY location, approx. 150 employees. The Planner may also cover supervision for the department.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for coordinating and scheduling of planned maintenance for packaging and facilities operations. Responsible for coordinating and scheduling contractors for planned maintenance or projects as needed.Partner with operations and appropriate business partners to achieve the set planned preventative maintenance schedule.Analyzes maintenance repair specifications to determine tools, parts, and human resource requirements. Responsible for ordering parts according to lead times and monitoring parts inventory levels to achieve necessary critical/wear spare parts. Document machine bill of materials and recommended spare parts levels. Apply to site stock levels.Updates systems with preventative maintenance data.Communicates between maintenance and production.Work with maintenance lead to stage parts kits for recommended spare assemblies Work with maintenance lead to rebuild spare machine assemblies as needed. Partner with procurement to issue and reconcile Purchase Orders as needed. Participates in root cause analysis of equipment/machinery failures and helps develop suitable repair solutions and PM plan to reduce and/or possibly eliminate reoccurrence of failure.Work closely with Maintenance Supervisor and technicians to understand day to day success of planned work and areas of improvement.Assists in driving the development of sound predictive and preventative maintenance programs which will reduce unplanned shutdowns and continuously improve plant reliability, profitability and product quality.Periodically evaluate program's effectiveness and modify accordingly to ensure optimum reliability/cost benefits are maintained.Implement change management, best practices, and standardization of work processes in the area of responsibility.Actively lead and participate on cross-functional teams for the continuous on-going improvement of methods and processes, including equipment performance, safety standards, and quality of products. Promote an atmosphere of team spirit through good example, open communication, good listening, and timely problem resolutions.Actively participate in the safety programs to improve, promote and enforce safety procedures and policies.Assists with the supervision, motivation and training of the maintenance personnel within the area of assignment.Work effectively and ensure that food safety, authenticity, legality, and quality are maintained.Report any risks or any evidence of unsafe or out-of-specification product, equipment, packaging or raw materials, to a designated manager to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate action.
WORK EXPERIENCES
3-5+ years in maintenance, engineering and / or a similar technical role in manufacturing required, preferably food manufacturing3+ years of experience scheduling, planning, managing PM/Work Order program, and managing parts inventory requiredMechanical knowledge is required with Electrical and PLC knowledge preferredExperience in developing sound predictive and preventative maintenance programs strongly preferredExperience operating SAP strongly preferredExperience working in Microsoft Office Programs strongly preferredExperience supporting a multi-shift operation preferredTrack record of success in Safety, Reliability, Quality, and employee involvement and an ability to promote/develop maintenance excellence is desired. Credibility and respect across the organization is importantDemonstrated experience in adhering to budgets preferred
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED requiredAssociates degree in technical field strongly preferred

The pay range for this position $55,000-$103,500. The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on the candidate's qualifications and prior experience.
