Basic Job Functions:
The person selected for this position will support the MechanicalSupervisor and/or Maintenance Leader of a given area in theresponsibility of all Mechanical Maintenance of that area, to includecontinuous improvement of Safety Culture, Predictive and PreventiveMaintenance systems, Project Coordination and Team Development, with anemphasis on projects that will produce Bottom Line Results. The personselected will be expected to lead, motivate, develop, and assist a team;manage large projects from start to completion; communicate well withboth production and maintenance; show concern for our customer\'s needs;and wisely manage contractors and costs. The person selected for thisposition will be expected to work nights, weekends, holidays, and covershift when needed. Safety is the most important part of all jobs withinNucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability toinitiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, andhousekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
5 yrs steel mill related main experience.
Project management experience
Detailed Selection Criteria:
Maintenance Systems and Techniques: Basic mechanical, electrical andengineering knowledge for assisting with servicing, repairing,adjusting, and testing moving parts and equipment.
Leadership Presence and Courage:Willingness and confidence to haveimmediate and direct conversations on critical alignment issues such asteamwork, building relationships, initiating and supporting change, andproduction process issues that arise. This includes the willingness toface adversity and conflict head on.
Teamwork: Working as part of a coordinated effort with others to achievea common goal.
Coordination: Effective with planning, managing time and makingadjustments relative to each department\'s activity in order to maintainefficiency in the process flow.
Problem Solving & Judgment/Decision Making: Identifying problems andanalyzing or reviewing related information to develop and evaluateoptions in order to choose the most appropriate solution(s).
Accountability and Dependability: Displays responsibility andreliability with work habits and has ability to hold others accountablefor desired results.
