  Collins Aerospace is seeking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic III for our Foley, AL Location . You will perform a variety of work to maintain CNC machines, mechanical equipment, and the structure of our facilities, to ensure all is in good condition. Duties may involve machine repair, carpentry, painting, welding, plumbing, and sheet metal work.

  This position requires working onsite at our Foley, AL facility.

  Shift: Rotating on call between 1st shift (primary) 6:00AM – 2:30PM & 2nd shift (Up to 3 weekends a year) 2:30PM – 10:30PM.

  Primary Responsibilities:

  Performs maintenance and repairs of mechanical, electrical, and other physical structures.

  Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs facility mechanical components and electrical systems.

  Installs, diagnosis, and repairs of electrical 120VAC, 240 VAC, 480VAC, single and three phase systems with a variety of test equipment, i.e., digital multi-meter.

  Performs machine repair and general preventative maintenance on equipment in compliance with preventative maintenance programs.

  Provides support in the development and implementation of facility and equipment upgrades.

  Maintains all paperwork to document repair and preventative maintenance work completed.

  Complies with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications, and safety policies.

  Required to pass a respiratory medical certification upon hire.

  Will be required to work at heights, with chemicals and in confined spaces.

  Perform other duties as assigned.

  Qualifications/ Experience Needed:

  HS diploma with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 4 years of relevant experience is required.

  U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

  Minimum of 1 years of experience in troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic and/or mechanical machinery equipment and repair of equipment

  Minimum of 1 years of experience in reading and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Knowledge of basic wastewater treatment and use of pH, conductivity, and hardness testing equipment

  Knowledge of vacuum theory, technology, and application will be necessary in the maintenance of vacuum furnaces.

  Knowledge of basic PLC controls including the ability to program, perform basic external diagnostic and repair PLC controls.

  Knowledge of Welding / Fabrication.

  Knowledge of CNC equipment

  Knowledge of basic math calculations including geometry, decimals, and fractions

  Basic machining experience.
