Position Title:Paratransit FleetMaintenance Manager
Reports to:General Manager
Status:Exempt – Salary $105,000 Annual
** $5000 Sign On Bonus
Must be willing to obtain a Class B license within 90 days ofemployment, employer to provide training.
SUMMARY:The Maintenance Manageroversees all activities of the Maintenance department for Paratransit Fleet, including the preventive maintenance and repair of buses/shuttles and other vehicles, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, state and local regulations and appropriate inventory control. Manager responsible to coordinate internal staff and contractors in facility maintenance, including the part outs. Manager responsible to develop schedules and oversee cleaning and technical staff enforce work rules and safety policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, local regulations and Transdev policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Schedules individual employees and departmental functions to ensure adequate coverage.
Address performance issues through compliments, coaching and progressive correction actions as established.
Apply all internal policies to the department, including its attendance policy.
Drive personal accountability of staff for individual team results by conducting regular analysis of performance results, documented coaching sessions, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
Develops and provides ongoing data reports, metrics, quality results, establish goals/targets for individual employees and departmental functions.
Investigates in a timely manner all customer or client complaints and provides summary reports.
Monitor and report Key Performance Indicators that represent overall performance at scheduled client or mamangement meetings,and upon request by the General Manager.
Selects, trains, motivates, engages and evaluates assigned personnel, administering compliments and progressive discipline appropriately, with an emphasis on technician skills and career development.
Maintains compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
Coordinates work performed by outside vendors.
Prioritizes and oversees the development of efficient and on-time inspection and repair schedules, reviews repair cost estimates.
Ensures on-time preventive inspections and compliance with client contractual requirements.
Approves priority of maintenance and repairs based on availability of materials and parts and requirements of scheduled operations.
Helps to ensure that company and client equipment is maintained and operating efficiently.
Controls and monitor’s inventory, parts usage and warranty cost savings.
Ensures that all vehicles are cleaned, and properly working.
Develops and implements safety policies and procedures for the department; maintains a safe working environment.
Participates in the development and administration of the departmental budget.
Identifies opportunities for improving service delivery methods.
Ensures that property, grounds, and facilities are clean and functional.
Work closely with Operations Manager and General Manager to achieve day to day results and overall improvements.
Enter, adjust and approve payroll hours in VDS for direct reports.
Conduct performance appraisals annually on each direct report.
Provides oral and written reports, statistics, data and information internally and externally.
Maintains confidentiality of all information.
Other duties as delegated by the General Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required.
BA/BS in transportation, logistics, or related field preferred.
ASE Certifications preferred / RTA a plus
7 years or more of progressively responsible experience in the repair and maintenance of all types of automotive and/or transit equipment including at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Broad understanding of all mechanical systems related to light duty transportation vehicles.
Familiarity with laws/regulations associated with the safe operation of maintenance facilities.
Ability to read, interpret and apply documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and other mechanical and/or electrical diagrams.
Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to organize and perform work efficiently, strong attention to details.
Ability to learn and use site-specific software for diagnostics and maintenance management programs.
Must be able to pass an employment physical examination (pre-employment) and substance abuse.
Valid Class BCommercial Drivers License.
Must maintain an excellent motor vehicle record.
Travel requirement (as a percent): <5% for occasional meetings.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
10% of work is accomplished in doors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facilities.
90% of work is accomplished open garage facility/outdoors.
Performs physical activities that require considerable use of the arms, repetitive hand-wrist motion, and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
Must maintain medical certificat required to maintain commercial driver’s license.
