　　Duties

　　What you will do:

　　The Thorne Plant is a COMAH establishment as designated by the UK Health & Safety Executive (HSE). The Maintenance Manager is therefore responsible for engineering and safe operation of a range of safety-critical equipment, vital for the management of Major Accident Hazards which could occur on the facility.

　　The Maintenance Manager is essential in supporting the processing facility, allowing customer supplied medical products to be processed in a timely manner at the STERIS Thorne facility. The Maintenance Manager will be mechanically and electrically biased and have some level of PLC experience. Experience of working within a manufacturing environment is essential. But also play a crucial role as supporting the rolling 5 year investment plan. Additionally, you will actively support the Engineering Team in the execution of projects. As Maintenance Manager Engineer you will be responsible for the following:

　　1.Lead as a Health & Safety advocate, ensuring that staff on site are safe and plant and equipment are adequate risk assessed to maintain a safe working environment.

　　2.Ensure plant and equipment comply with all legal regulations and ensure any changes to key plant follows the corporate Change Control process and sign off.

　　3.Budgetary responsibility for all maintenance spend and forward capital planning requirements for the site.

　　4.Leading the engineering team on site, providing a team working mentality and clearly communicating maintenance responsibilities, KPI’s and projects to internal and external stakeholders

　　5.Ensure robust monitoring systems are established and monitored to control reactive & planned maintenance and stock control.

　　6.Support and plan plant and facility improvement projects

　　7.Take responsibility for the maintenance team performance, training and development and future succession planning

　　8.Lead on continuous improvement activities to improve plant / maintenance efficiencies.

　　Education Degree

　　Required Experience

　　Knowledge of the following duties: • Lighting • Emergency light testing • Power distribution • Electrical and mechanical fault-finding • Small works - new sockets, new lights, new circuits • PAT Testing • Control Panel maintenance • Fire alarms • Sprinkler systems • Water treatment/Legionella • Pumps • Motors • Compressors • Hydraulics • General building services

　　Welding and fabrication experience

　　Knowledge of 5s and lean initiatives

　　Knowledge of drives and conveyors

　　Hydraulics and pneumatics

　　Electrical experience

　　Mechanical experience
