This position will work closely with tool designers, machine design engineers, and Team Members to set up and machine parts required for projects.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReceives work orders and processes that required part from its interpretation.Inspects parts for quality and completion.Keeps work area clean and safe using lean principles.Actively participates in Process Improvement activities, including Kaizen and 3P events with Terex AWP production teams to learn about production requirementsContribute through development of concepts, sketching, machining, fabrication, assembly, testing and installation of dedicated machinery.Apply Lean Manufacturing knowledge and proficiency with metalworking processes, tooling and fixating and material conveyance methods to develop the most efficient solutions.Light fabrication duties may be required.Ability to prioritize work load based on production needs and adjust work schedule.Develop and deploy rapid solutions to specific tooling opportunities engaging engineering and production.High degree of quality inspection and solution skills.Works with Team members to promote teamworkCross train for other positions.Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsKnowledge and SkillsRequires knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques. Requires the technical knowledge to make sound decisions on routine matters in support of immediate work group's goals. Functions independently within context of day-to-day activities. Must possess some creativity in accomplishing assignments and use of discretion and independent judgement. Requires analytical skills to establish procedures to solve routine problems. Requires advanced skills with tooling part fabrication, machining, and fixture assembly processes. Requires a high degree of quality inspection and solution skills. Requires multiple product/process knowledge within facility.AbilitiesShould possess mechanical capabilities. Requires the ability to use a Bed Mill, older Lathes, floor grinders, and drill presses. Requires the ability to use a band saw. Requires the ability to cut out blanks. Requires the ability to read engineering blueprints/drawings. Requires the ability to use basic shop math as well as calibration skills. Must be able to use simple tools and use a variety of machine shop tooling. Must be able to drive a forklift as necessary. Requires the ability to manage several smaller scale projects at a time. Demonstrates the ability to convey technical information/concepts to others in either written or verbal format.Physical AbilitiesMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Frequent lifting of 10-20 pounds.Education and ExperienceRequires a high school diploma or equivalent. Technical/trade schooling is preferred. Requires at least 5 years of experience. Additional education may substitute experience. Experience participating in process improvement initiatives preferred.Salary: The compensation for this position is $22.30 to $27.88 hourly.
