Machining Operations apprenticeship

　　Description

　　The Machining Operations Apprenticeship pathway builds on machine tool process training across different component areas’ on a wide variety of machine processes. This training development is undertaken through process rotations across the Huddersfield Machining Cells learning CNC-controlled processes and systems to support the delivery of machined components to the Assembly and Final Customer.

　　Completion of daily Safety, Quality and equipment checks.

　　Working to define processes that deliver quality products on time to the internal customer.

　　Operating a range of machinery that have seen in excess if £3million investment in the last 3 years including;

　　Cobots (Collaborative Robots)

　　Fully Automated Robots

　　Gantry Feed systems

　　Machine Centers

　　Turning and Grinding

　　Dynamic Balancing

　　Work to the required company and industry standard whilst being given responsibility for the quality of your own work.

　　To be flexible within Huddersfield Turbo Plant, given training as directed to meet operational requirements and develop high value skills for your future career.

　　Qualifications

　　Skills

　　You will study full time at Appris in your first year learning a broad range of engineering knowledge and skills including:

　　Producing components using hand fitting techniques.

　　Maintaining mechanical devices and equipment.

　　Assembling and testing fluid power systems.

　　Producing mechanical assemblies.

　　Preparing and using lathes for turning operations.

　　Preparing and using milling machines.

　　After your first year, you will come on site for the duration of your apprenticeship to learn your role within the company and will study one day per week at Appris. Included in the 4-year apprenticeship is a 2-year Level 4 HNC qualification.

　　Entry Requirements

　　We are looking for self-motivated people who are a good fit with our business. We want to see and hear that you are genuinely enthusiastic about developing a career in your chosen field, you work well in a team and can plan and organise your time effectively. In addition, you will also possess:

　　5 GCSEs level 4-9: Including English language, Mathematics and a Science/Technology subject.Additional information
