JOB REQUIREMENTS: Machine Operator Position Summary: Sets up andoperates a variety of equipment to perform various machine functionsutilizing knowledge of machine tool capabilities, machinability ofmaterials and shop math. Reads and interprets blueprints, planningsheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine toolingrequirements, setup procedures, control settings, machining methods andsequence. Places the springs into the baskets for painting according tothe work orders requirements. Mounts, aligns, and secures toolingattachments and work piece on machine. Selects and installs cuttingtools in machine spindle. Calculates and sets machine controls toposition spindle in relationship to work pieces and to regulate factorssuch as cutting depth, speed and feed. Starts machine and monitorsdisplays and machine operation to detect malfunctions. Stops machine tochange cutting tools and set up according to required machiningsequence, or to measure parts for conformance to blueprintspecifications, using precision measuring instruments. Enters commandsor manually adjusts machine controls to correct malfunctions orout-of-tolerance machining. Makes boxes and packages springs forplacement into inventory. Checks springs for proper size and dimensionas needed.
