icensed Practical Nurse II - multiple shifts - (240000IE) DescriptionTaunton State Hospital is seeking Licensed Practical Nurse II candidatesto provide nursing care to patients in an assigned area; administertreatment and medications; and perform related work as required. PleaseNote: These positions are 40 hours per week. The following schedules areavailable with alternating weekends: First shift: 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.Days off: Week 1 - Sunday/Wednesday; Week 2 - Wednesday Saturday Secondshift: 2:45 a.m. to 11:15 p.m. Days off: Week 1 - Sunday/Thursday; Week2 - Wednesday/Saturday Duties and Responsibilities (these are a generalsummary and not all inclusive): Provides direct care to patients inassigned area including activities of daily living, meal supervision,escorts responsibility for group activities as assigned, and orientationof patients to the ward. Treats all patients with dignity and respectthrough interactions which affirm the individual\'s needs andpreferences and by optimally integrating the patient perspective intoall facets of care; will advocate for patients, facilitate timelyresolution of patient concerns and assist patients in the exercise oftheir rights. Develops therapeutic relationships with individualpatients, groups, and family members to facilitate continuity of care.Participates in the development and maintenance of a therapeutic milieu.Supervises mental health workers in the performance of jobresponsibilities. Attends rounds and treatment team meetings. Activelyparticipates as an interdisciplinary team member. Collaborates incollecting data related to the assessment, planning, and evaluationprocess. Provides input into the development of the nursing care planand multidisciplinary treatment plan. Responds to and participates inmedical and psychiatric emergencies. Assures emergency equipment ischecked and reviewed as assigned. Provides related health care educationto patients and family according to nursing care plan andmultidisciplinary treatment plan. Administers treatments and medicationsas ordered and according to hospital policy. Documents pertinent patientcare information in the medical record. Transcribes M.D. orders asassigned.
