ABOUT THIS POSITION As a Logistics Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials and supplies throughout our facility and manufacturing partners, contributing directly to the manufacturing and distribution of life-changing medical devices. OPPORTUNITIES YOU WILL HAVE IN THIS ROLE Inventory Management: Oversee the accurate and timely receipt, storage, and issuance of raw materials, components, and finished goods in compliance with established procedures and regulations. Implement effective inventory control procedures to optimize stock levels. Shipping and Receiving: Coordinate and execute the shipping and receiving of medical devices and components. Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and industry standards. Quality Assurance: Perform visual inspections of incoming materials to identify any discrepancies, report them to the appropriate personnel, and initiate claims. Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers to coordinate timely delivery of raw materials and components. Optimize supply chain processes to minimize lead times and costs Compliance and Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of material movements, inventory levels, and stock locations, utilizing the company's inventory management system. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement within the logistics function. Implement efficiency measures to enhance overall supply chain performance. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks in logistics and supply chain processes. Implement contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, Operations, and Quality, to support timely and accurate delivery of materials Participate in cross-functional teams to address supply chain challenges. Cycle Counts: Conduct routine cycle counts to validate inventory accuracy, promptly resolving any discrepancies and updating inventory records accordingly. Waste Management: Coordinate the disposal or recycling of materials following proper waste management guidelines and environmental regulations. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred. 5-8 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management, preferably in the medical device industry. Knowledge of FDA regulatory requirements related to shipping and logistics. Proficiency in using material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, with appropriate certification. Proficiency in logistics and inventory management software. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
