Overview
Lutron Electronics Co., Inc has an immediate opening for a Logistics Operations Project Specialist at Lutron's Annex office location in Center Valley, PA. In this position, you would be a key part of the Logistics and Supply Chain teams. A successful Logistics Operations Project Specialist will manage day to day shipment and trade compliance issues and coordinate shipments within Lutron's supply chain.
This role will coordinate transportation and special handling/delivery requests with domestic and international customer service for outgoing Customer orders. The specialist will request and review transportation quotes, solve material flow concerns and resolve Trade Compliance issues. Additionally, this role will document practices with SOPs, optimize capacity and lanes and evaluate other areas for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
• Plan and resolve logistics of Inbound Raw Materials and Finished Goods to support production, warehousing and distribution functions to allow for on time outbound Finished Goods for Lutron's customer orders• Quote, coordinate, track, trace, and problem solve all shipments in the Lutron network for both Shades and Electrical sides of the company• Increase predictability of material movements and assist production planners and purchasing (i.e. Reduce the cost of raw materials by 10% each year)• Propose solutions for white glove shipments, provide direction on how to process shipments with correct incoterms, and provide guidance for hazardous materials shipping• Document processes internally and with carrier partner SOPs• Maintain master data and transactional data in ERP system, run test scripts for ERP system testing.• Evaluate assigned logistics lanes for improvement opportunities including lane optimization and carrier usage• Create logistics performance reports and ad hoc reports to support logistics business requests• Build expertise in transportation / logistics and customer service interactions by learning key carrier lanes and problem-solving techniques• Understand trade compliance impact and shipment impacts with the ability to evaluate logistics data for exceptions or trends• Build strong relationships with Customer service, production facilities and warehouses, and tactical buyers in order to schedule/deliver raw materials, finished goods and equipment where it is needed• Understand situations, problem solve and provide transportation solutions by tenaciously seeking root cause and preventive action• Stay aligned to Lutron's culture and values: * Be passionate * Be flexible and adaptable to changing markets * Be an innovative thinker * Be customer focused * Be ethical
Qualifications
• Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field required with minimum 2.8 GPA• Minimum 3 years of experience in transportation or logistics; prior trade compliance experience and/or a transportation management system is a plus• Proficiency in Spanish a plus• Proven facilitation and project management skills• MS Office experience required, experience with TMS systems or PowerBI a plus• Willingness to travel <10% of the time
