Days/Hours of Position:
Monday - Friday 1:30pm-10:00pm
Occupational health nursing is the specialty practice that delivershealth and safety programs and services to workers and workerpopulations. The practice focuses on promotion and restoration ofhealth, prevention of illness and injury, and protection fromwork-related and environmental hazards.
JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing primary andemergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries andillnesses; assisting with required health assessments for specifiedprograms; conducting required screening tests such as drug and alcoholtesting, spirometry testing or audiometric testing; maintaining OSHA,state and employee health records; adhering to the highest standard ofconfidentiality; participating in plant safety and ergonomic programs;assisting with health promotion, education and training programs;identifying and assisting with workers\' compensation cases andassisting with maintenance and documentation of workers\' compensationfiles; and performing other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Current unrestricted state license as a LicensedPractical/Vocational Nurse required.
Experience: Prefer 1+ years\' experience in a nursing field. Clinicalhours can be acceptable for graduate nurses.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills. Ability to work with anelectronic medical documentation system.
Other Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills and strongproblem solving and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements: Physical requirements include walking through theplant to ensure team member and supervisor compliance with prescribedmodified restricted duty requirements. This will include walking upsteps and using ladders.
Travel: Occasional travel to local clinic/hospital
