JOB REQUIREMENTS: As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you play a vitalrole in our clinic. Without you, we would not be able to fulfill ourpurpose! You provide total care for our residents, starting withcarefully monitoring their condition and needs. You follow physicianorders to administer medications and treatments, ensure the narcoticpolicies and procedures are followed, monitor for side effects, andreport any changes in the condition of residents. You also oversee thenursing assistant-registered (NAR) staff to make sure that resident careplans are being followed. With a close eye for detail, you completedocumentation as well as admit and discharge residents. You take greatcare to report any bruises, skin tears, or neglect that you find whencaring for your residents. You live up to the trust of those in yourcare by maintaining confidentiality and following Health InsurancePortability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) requirements as well asupholding our facility policies and procedures. Observe patients, charting and reporting changes in patients\'conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, andtaking any necessary action. Measure and record patients\' vital signs,such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, orrespiration. Administer prescribed medications or start intravenousfluids, noting times and amounts on patients\' charts. Provide basicpatient care or treatments, such as taking temperatures or bloodpressures, dressing wounds, treating bedsores, giving enemas or douches,rubbing with alcohol, massaging, or performing catheterizations. Answerpatients\' calls and determine how to assist them. Supervise nurses\'aides or assistants. Evaluate nursing intervention outcomes, conferringwith other healthcare team members as necessary. Work as part of ahealthcare team to assess patient needs, plan and modify care, andimplement interventions. Record food and fluid intake and output.Assemble and use equipment, such as catheters, tracheotomy tubes, oroxygen suppliers. Collect samples, such as blood, urine, or sputum frompatients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples. Prepare orexamine food trays for conformance to prescribed diet. Help patientswith bathing, dressing, maintaining personal hygiene, moving in bed, orstanding and walking. Prepare patients for examinations, tests, ortreatments and explain procedures. Apply compresses, ice bags, or hotwater bottles. Sterilize equipment and supplies, using germicides,sterilizer, or autoclave.
