　　As a library assistant for our Youth Services department you will stand as the direct point of contact for customers, resolving routine questions, or problems, and referring more complex issues when necessary. 　　In this role you will...

　　Implement standards of service that ensure the prompt and efficient resolution of each inquiry by customers.

　　Provide assistance at all library service locations and stations.

　　Offer directional and service-related information to users.

　　Assist library users in person, by phone, or electronically.

　　Serve in material checkout/check-in, retrieve and process reserves, billing, and missing items.

　　Perform routine equipment cleaning and maintenance.

　　Sort and shelve materials and maintain an orderly arrangement of materials.

　　Aid in operating and basic troubleshooting of automated materials check-in, emptying and swapping materials bins, and routine maintenance.

　　Work Hours:

　　Full-Time, 40 hours per week.

　　Must be available, Monday - Saturday 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

　　Work schedules may vary due to split shifts, rotations, on-call, emergencies, etc

　　About You

　　Minimum Qualifications:

　　High School Diploma or equivalent education

　　Preferred Qualification:

　　One-year of experience in a clerical or customer service environment.

　　Bilingual in Spanish.

　　Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
