Required Qualifications
• Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Santa Clara; Chandler, Arizona or Hillsboro, Oregon or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel in the US
• Higher education or degree preferred (but not required) or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider 1-3 years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
2+ years of IT experience.
Previous work experience performing Asset management and inventory functions.
Candidate will be part of onsite team maintaining network environment in support of physical touch (Smart Hands) support for Network related Service Request, Asset Management & Inventory, Decommissioning of assets, and Material Ordering.
Must be a highly organized individual to manage the IT assets including coordinating ordering, validation of purchase, physical receipt, storage, software licenses, certificates of authenticity, and any other relevant documentation.
IT assets must be identified, located, and stored in the approved physical location and within the asset management tracking system to allow for quickly finding and assigning to associated Tickets and Techs
Ensure the accuracy of newly received asset record information as well existing asset changes in up to date in our asset management database (Service Now)
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for creating or maintaining Excel spreadsheets that are used for tracking, reporting informational and metric accountability purposes.
Accountable for Receiving of our Network hardware or material shipments.
Validation Purchase Order accuracy of Hardware/Material received.
Moving of Equipment from dock to staging areas install destination.
Unboxing, Discard and Recycling of materials.
Scanning and labeling of devices (network or server) as needed
Designate parts identified for spare part stock inventory.
Proper e-waste handling and disposal
Facilitate equipment shipping and receiving as needed (i.e., site to site material transfers, vendor returns).
Provide Escort Service for Vendors/Techs.
Ability to withstand working in a hot enclosed environment for short time spans required (i.e., data center hot isles)
Must be able to perform work while on a ladder (use of ladders is required for top of rack installations)
Must be able to work independently as well as in teams of 3-4 and be flexible.
Must be able to lift 35 lbs. solo.
Must be willing to travel between buildings using personal car/foot.
May be required to walk/sit/stand/crawl/kneel for extended periods.
Must have excellent customer service skills and written/verbal communication skills.
Requires knowledge of Microsoft suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word primarily), Windows 10.
Other related tasks required:
Candidate will also be required to assistance with hardware Rack & Stack installation or decommissioning of both Network and Server equipment, cable management, and Fiber and/or Copper Patch cables.
He/she will provide Service Request Support working with remote Network Support Teams to install hardware or patch cables to enable new services for customers.
He/she may also be required to assistance in Incident support by working with remote Level 2/3 Network teams to assist in resolving outages, fixing issues including replacement of faulty cabling or hardware components.
The job entails working in network rooms, office, lab, factory, datacenters. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email, or face to face.
