Summary ofResponsibilities: To perform with limited supervision, repairing andmaintaining equipment and building structures at the Lena facility.Employees are responsible for understanding and complying with theCurrent Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety guidelines toensure that quality food products are manufactured in a sanitaryproduction environment and delivered with superior protection to ourcustomers and consumers. Major Responsibilities: Perform with limitedsupervision the following: 1. Mechanical: repair, rebuild, install,construct, equipment used in the facility, which includes but is notlimited to welding, lubricating, cleaning, inspecting, evaluating,plumbing, painting, and general construction. Capable of evaluatingoperating condition of all equipment in facility. 2. Building:renovations, modifications, construction, and inspection. 3. Electrical:minor electrical repairs, motor hook-ups. 4. Preventative Maintenance:lubrication, record keeping and equipment monitoring. 5. Operating handtrucks, pick up trucks, and forklifts. 6. Maintenance parts and supplyinventory. 7. Communicate with necessary personnel, discuss maintenancerelated issues influencing plant activities. 8. Gather relevant datafrom appropriate sources. 9. Analyze impact of decisions beforeexecuting. 10. Recognize problems and enlist assistance when necessary.11. Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly workplace by exhibitingproper housekeeping practice. Major Responsibilities (Continued) 12.Recognize safety hazards as related to position. Work to maintain safework environment for all plant employees. 13. Other duties as may beassigned due to short-term, unforeseen manufacturing changes or needs.Special Skills Required: * Strong mechanical and electrical abilities.* Full working knowledge of shop hand tools and their uses. *Excellent communication skhills, ability to effectively work withothers. * Must be physically capable of performing medium to heavywork, with frequent lifting and carrying a maximum of 100 lbs. Must alsobe capable to do occasional climbing, stooping, squatting, kneeling,crouching, reaching and handling, as well as frequent standing/walking.* Must successfully pass the Saputo provided training forPasteurization within the first week in this position. Also, mustsuccessfully obtain a pasteurization certificate within 12 months ofbeing in this position. Scope of Duties: No supervisory responsibility.No budgetary responsibility.
