This position will expose thesuccessful applicant to multiple areas of law and allow the candidate togain practical and challenging legal experience in a corporate setting.
What You Will Do
- - Draft, evaluate, and organize legal memoranda, contracts, correspondence, and other internal documents in accordance with corporate policies and deadlines. - Assist in the maintenance and organization of all legal documents and other collected factual information. - Conduct research assignments and fact finding investigations related to all pending and current legal matters. - Analyze potential risks regarding contract changes and corporate policies may pose to the organization. - Address and resolve contractual issues that may arise, both internally and externally. - Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company\'s policies and practices. - The position term will be for a minimum of ten (10) weeks beginning after the conclusion of the current academic year. - Perform other duties & projects as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- - Currently enrolled in an accredited law school pursuing a JD degree as a 2L or a 3L. - GPA of 3.0 or higher. - Prior experience working in a law firm or corporate legal department preferably with litigation, real estate, and/or complex commercial contracting matters. - Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office. - Ability to operate under pressure in a highly complex, fast-paced environment. - Demonstrated ability to effectively and constructively communicate, both verbally and in writing, across departmental disciplines and external customer base while pursuing legal department goals. - Ability to identify problems/issues and generate solutions using standard procedures. - The position will be for a minimum of ten (10) weeks beginning after the conclusion of the current academic year.
