Republic Finance is seeking a Legal Collections Specialist to join our growing Centralized Operations team in Ponchatoula, LA! This is an entry level, non customer facing role, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm role with a starting base pay of $32,000 (paid hourly) base pay varies depending on experience. This position also receives a monthly bonus earning up to $600! We are seeking individuals who have an understanding for account maintenance, computer literacy and data entry! The Legal Collections Specialist is responsible for processing legal accounts placed within the court system. The LCS will file and update legal accounts through different stages in court proceedings, from placement of the file to judgment, and later, post judgment collections including wage garnishments and closure and/or satisfaction of legal accounts. You will work with operations, compliance, audit, legal and other key partners who may be both internal and external to the organization ensuring timelines are met. As a key member of the Centralized Operations team within this growing organization, you will have an opportunity to grow professionally in this role. Job Responsibilities are as follows: File approved litigation accounts with the Small Claims court Process documents timely ensuring expedient movement of a litigation account through the Small Claims process Ensure appropriate documents and costs are provided to the Small Claims courts through each required legal step Updates internal sites with each step of the litigation process Handles inbound calls from branches and court network surrounding legal assignment. Adheres to policies and procedures when resolving suitable collection solutions, including the Fair Debt Collection Law and all internal Policy and Procedure.
