Description
Regional law firm has an immediate opening for a Legal Assistant! This Legal Assistant will be providing support to three partners within a legal environment, focusing on labor and employment, construction litigation, and a blend of trial and transactional law. As a Legal Assistant, you'll be responsible for preparing various legal documents, e-filing with the courts, assisting with client billing, and case management. This role is a hybrid, with the expectation to be on-site three times per week after initial full-time on-site training period. The ideal candidate will have at least 1+ year(s) of experience supporting attorneys in a law firm environment; prior civil litigation experience is required.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate court filings and ensure all legal documents are drafted accurately and timely.
• Manage partners' calendars and dockets, ensuring all appointments and deadlines are met.
• Draft legal documents from templates such as pleadings, motions, discovery, memoranda, correspondence.
• Prepare for trials by assisting in trial preparation and organizing necessary legal documents.
• Handle transactional matters and assist in the preparation of legal documents.
• Edit and finalize client bills while demonstrating attention to detail and adhering to specific clients’ billing procedures.
• Maintain a high level of detail orientation and organization in all tasks.
• Adapt to a fast-paced environment and handle tasks with a strong sense of urgency.
Requirements
Qualifications:
• Minimum of one year of experience as a Legal Assistant.
• Proficiency in managing calendars and dockets.
• Familiarity with civil litigation processes and procedures is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to draft legal documents accurately.
• Experience in preparing and managing court filings.
• Experience handling transactional law matters is a plus but not required.
• Ability to work on-site is required.
