Lecturer / Sr. Lecturer - School of Electrical and Computer Engineering

Cornell University embraces diversity and seeks candidates who will contribute to a climate that supports students, faculty and staff of all identities and backgrounds. We strongly encourage individuals from underrepresented and/or marginalized identities to apply.

Cornell University's College of Engineering (COE), has a long and storied history of distinction, creativity and impact. The departments of mechanic arts (now mechanical and aerospace engineering) and civil engineering date to the University's founding. The College established the nation's first electrical engineering department in 1889 and awarded the nation's first doctorates in both electrical and industrial engineering.

Its legacy continues to this day, as Cornell Engineering brings together the best minds from across disciplines to invent disruptive technologies and discover novel solutions to complex and challenging problems. It is a global leader in research, teaching, and advancing diversity in the field. COE is also a key collaborator across the rich interdisciplinary landscape at Cornell University, playing a role in all of the university's Radical Collaborations to address society's most challenging problems.

The college enrolls a diverse and talented student body that includes 3,200+ undergraduate students and 2,100+ graduate students, and has over 46,000 living alumni around the globe. COE is home to a diverse, collaborative, talented and dedicated 200+ tenured and tenure-track faculty, plus research faculty and professors of practice who work each day to change the world. Faculty span 10 departments, schools and programs with a footprint in both Ithaca and New York City.

The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering connects our world. ECE fields range from the nanoscale to the gigantic, from electronics for microscopic integrated circuits and biological systems to large-scale energy generators and the power grid, from the maker movement to theoretical quantum mechanics. Look around and you'll see ECE everywhere. The future of self-driving cars, drones, robotics, AI, mobile phones and the Internet of Things all depend upon innovations in ECE. The department supports approximately 40 faculty, 175 undergraduates, 130 Master of Engineering students and over 150 Ph.D. students.

The SCHOOL OF ELECTRICAL AND COMPUTER ENGINEERING invites applications for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer position. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses primarily in digital logic, computer organization, embedded systems, and/or computer architecture. Teaching competency in other areas relevant to our ECE curriculum is a plus. Candidates should hold a M.S. or Ph.D. in a relevant field or be able to demonstrate 5+ years of relevant experience.

Applicants should submit: a cover letter; curriculum vitae (CV); a teaching statement; a statement of diversity, equity, and inclusion; and complete contact information for at least three references. More information about DEI statements can be found here:

Applications must be submitted on-line at https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/24137. Review of applications will begin immediately. See our website, https://www.ece.cornell.edu/ece, for additional information on our programs.
