Appointments may be full-time or part-time and may be limited to one semester. This does not constitute a posting for vacancies, but establishes a pool of applicants should openings occur during the 2023-24 academic year. Applicants will be selected from this pool on an as-needed basis throughout the current academic year. Appointments may be renewable based on need, funding, and performance. Duties/responsibilities -prepare and deliver lectures (20%) -prepare homework assignments, quizzes and exams (20%) -hold office hours (15%) -assess student work (20%) -supervise the teaching assistants (15%) -manage the administration of the course (10%) Qualifications Required Qualifications -Doctorate in mechanical engineering or a related field required for appointment -The ability to instruct effectively at both the graduate and undergraduate levels to a diverse group of engineering students is required. -Expertise and documented teaching activities must demonstrate a strong potential to enhance the department's teaching missions. Preferred Qualifications -Experience teaching engineering curriculum at an institute of higher education is highly desired.
