  Position Summary

  The State University of New York at Geneseo Department of Biology invites applications for an anticipated opening for a full-time, non-tenure-track Lecturer to begin August 2024. The initial appointment is for one year and is eligible for renewal. The duties of the position include:

  Teaching courses in Ecology (lecture and labs)

  Teaching courses in Introductory Biology (majors and non-majors, lectures and labs)

  Academic advising

  Service to the department

  Our priority is teaching excellence. We seek someone with a strong commitment to teaching in a liberal arts setting and who is prepared to teach courses in their area of specialty as well as contribute to the introductory courses. A commitment to working effectively with students from diverse backgrounds is essential.

  Required Qualifications

  Required Qualifications:

  Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a biological discipline conferred by the time of appointment and be qualified to teach Introductory Biology courses and Ecology lectures and/or labs.

  The candidate must have experience teaching undergraduate biology courses.

  Competitive candidates will also have demonstrated a commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment and the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and constituents.

  Preferred Qualifications

  Competitive candidates will have relevant teaching and research experience in their field, preferably in Ecology.
