The Graham School of Continuing Liberal Arts Education is currentlyseeking qualified applicants for a part-time position to teach in ourMaster of Liberal Arts program. Current University faculty and staff, aswell as professionals working in relevant positions outside of theUniversity, are eligible to apply. Courses are held online or in personat our Chicago campus. The program currently operates on a quarterlyschedule with classes held weekly, 8 to 10 weeks of instruction perquarter.
Responsibilities
Develop syllabus including weekly class schedule, discussion topics,learning objectives, reading assignments, and assessment plans usinggrading rubrics.Develop Canvas Learning Management System course site.Develop and deliver in-class content (lectures, activities, breakoutgroup work).Develop asynchronous content which supplements the in-class learningexperience (recorded lectures, discussion board content, project,and research work).Grade assignments and return comments and grades to students intimely manner.Attend all weekly in-person and/or remote synchronous sessions.Attend instructor meetings coordinated and hosted by program staff.Work with the program director and other program instructors toensure consistency across class sections and participate incurriculum reviews.Supplemental asynchronous content and remote synchronous instructionmethods must be developed and planned in conjunction with GrahamSchool online instructional design and/or teaching and learningteams and approved by the program.After initial review of applications, candidates may be requested tosubmit a course proposal.Qualifications
Qualified applicants must have a graduate-level degree in a relevantfield, PhD preferred. Candidates with prior teaching experience and/orrelevant practical experience are strongly preferred.
