The Department of Biology at Nazareth University of Rochester, New York, invites applications for a Lecturer of Biology to begin August 2024. The successful candidate will be committed to undergraduate teaching excellence at a comprehensive institution that supports both liberal-arts curricula and professional programs. Applicants should have a M.S. or Ph.D. in the field of Biology or a closely related field and demonstrated experience successfully educating diverse populations of students. The successful candidate is expected to teach lecture and laboratory courses in biology (as appropriate to degree and needs of the department) and contribute to our liberal arts core curriculum. Primary teaching responsibilities include contributions to the first year biology courses and general science courses as well as anatomy and physiology if appropriate.
The Nazareth University Departments of Biology and Chemistry are located in Peckham Hall, a 74,000 square foot facility for integrated math and science that was recently ranked 20th for Best Science Lab Facilities by the Princeton Review. Peckham Hall features state-of-the-art laboratories and facilities in addition to various updated instrumentation available for both research and teaching usage. The Departments include majors in Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Environmental Science and Sustainability, and Toxicology.
