Job Description
As Lean Engineer at our Uppsala site, you will be part of a global supply chain manufacturing team tasked with driving, adopting, and implementing Lean Principles and practices on the manufacturing floor. In this role, you will be focusing on processes, driving efficiency, and embedding a culture of lean across organization. The ideal candidate is highly engaged on the shop floor, actively working alongside cross-functional teams to drive measurable improvements and to deliver measurable results.
Roles and Responsibilities
Serve as a change agent by influencing, communicating, and institutionalizing a culture of simplification and standardization.
Coach Lean Manufacturing principles and behaviors to our plant leadership teams in the use of Lean tools and the simplification methodology to drive significant business impact.
Develop Lean capabilities by training and coaching key team members to build Lean muscle within the organization.
Lead value stream mapping activities directly on the shop floor
Use tools such as 5S, Standard Work, and Visual Management to create structured and efficient work environments.
Work alongside operators and supervisors to identify inefficiencies, develop solutions, and implement changes that streamline operations and eliminate waste.
Use data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the impact of Lean initiatives, identify trends, and report results to leadership.
Required Skills:
Understanding of Lean principles: Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts such as 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and waste reduction is a plus
Problem-Solving Abilities: Analytical mindset with the ability to identify inefficiencies, brainstorm solutions, and implement improvements
Data Analysis: Proficiency in using data to measure and improve processes.
Process Mapping: Ability to visualize workflows and identify improvement opportunities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage and influence cross-functional teams
Hands-On Approach: Comfortable spending time on the shop floor, observing processes, and working closely with operators and line leaders
Bachelor’s degree in any technical or analytical domain with a preference for Manufacturing related degrees (Engineering)
