LinQuest Corporation is seeking a Lead Software Test Engineer, preferably with direct development and user testing experience with AFSIM or similar mission-level modeling & simulation tool to join our team in supporting the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) on location in Reston, Virginia. An active TS/SCI clearance is required.
The applicant will contribute to an exciting project to advance Department of Defense capability to conduct mission-level modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) of complex, adaptive kill webs. The selected individual will serve on a multi-disciplinary team of operational military and intelligence community subject matter experts, operations research analysts, and modelers conducting sponsor-directed studies and analyses using an environment and MS&A tool being developed for DARPA by third-party.
The Lead Software Test Engineer will lead a small cell to develop structured user testing protocols, vignettes, and use cases, and then execute and report on operational testing of recurrent releases and updates of this MS&A software prior to each release being used for analytic purposes. May engage directly with the third-party software developer regarding testing results and findings to inform corrective action. Provides oversight of subordinate testing and systems engineer personnel.
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, or related technical field
7+ years of relevant experience (or a technical Master’s Degree with 5 years of relevant experience)
DOD Certifications:
CompTIA Security+ or Level I equivalent (minimum)
ISC2 Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) or Level II equivalent (preferred)
Experience developing and testing mission-level modeling & simulation software
Familiarity with Joint warfighting capabilities, advanced weapons, current and future operational concepts and modeling & simulation of the same
High level of proficiency in developing and implementing operational software testing protocols and reporting on results thereof
Ability to think creatively and function as part of a high-performing team
Ability to coordinate with government and external contractor stakeholders to identify and solve a variety of problems and to clarify objectives
Excellent oral and written communications skills
US Citizenship
Active DoD Top Secret clearance with current SCI eligibility
Eligible for Special Access Program (SAP) access
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Extensive knowledge/experience in Joint warfighting capabilities, advanced weapons, current and future operational concepts and modeling & simulation of the same
Experience implementing and testing tools in a Linux environment
Understands systems engineering principles and can identify data exchange requirements between software modules and/or subsystems
Familiarity with one or more mission-level modeling and simulation (M&S) environments, such as AFSIM, NGTS, ITASE, etc.
Proficiency in one or more of the following or related languages: Python, C++, XML
