　　Media Engineering's Manifest Delivery team i s accountable for ensuring that customers can play videos – the core functionality of our service. The team's responsibilities include delivering HLS and DASH manifests that power the in-app players across a variety of devices for the VOD experience. The team is involved in end-to-end quality of service for playback, from how long it takes to start a video to how the video segments are delivered. We are looking for a Software Developer to help us build a robust, reliable and fast set of media presentation services. We are also responsible for building scalable solutions to support the insertion of personalized auxiliary content (bumpers and ads) into main content streams across the VOD and live playback experiences.

　　Responsibilities:

　　Build systems to power low latency manifest delivery for VOD playback with 24/7 availability

　　Develop services to dynamically generate DASH and HLS playlists to a wide range of devices

　　Develop and deploy highly available systems on top of AWS/Kubernetes/Spinnaker

　　Lead technical designs and architecture of complex, cross-team projects

　　Set the standard of code repository style and cleanliness within the team

　　Lead architectural discussions, create and present design documents and represent the team in architectural discussions

　　Continually identify areas for improvements in our systems, workflows, logging, monitoring and alerting

　　Basic Qualifications::

　　Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience

　　Minimum of 7 years of backend software development experience in Golang or a similar language such as Java, Python, C++ or C

　　Experience building scalable, fault-tolerant, high-uptime systems in a cloud native environment - preferably AWS cloud

　　Experience designing and implementing complex, distributed software systems

　　Excellent organizational and leadership skills

　　Excellent communication, collaboration skills and a strong teamwork ethic

　　Preferred Qualifications:

　　Familiarity with streaming video and OTT technologies such as CMAF, HLS and DASH

　　Experience with video delivery at high scale

　　Familiarity with video encoding and encryption

　　Familiarity with DRM technologies like Widevine, PlayReady and FairPlay

　　The hiring range for this position in California is $149,300 - $200,200 per year and in New York and Washington is $156,300 - $209,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
