Overview

　　ATCC is seeking a full time direct hire Lead Repository Technician to work in Gaithersburg, Maryalnd.

　　The Lead Repository Technician oversees and coordinates the daily activities of a team of repository technicians within the Repository. They are responsible for assigning tasks for maintaining inventory and materials to support commercial and government customers. They lead large or complex inventory management projects, ensuring the work is performed on time per customer and management specifications. They mentor, train, and direct other technicians, working alongside team members to accomplish the work. They frequently communicate with vendors and clients to clarify service requirements, coordinate shipments, and resolve issues.

　　The L ead Repository Technician uses database applications to track inventory and shipping of materials. They also ensure materials are stored at correct temperatures, and safety protocols are followed when handling potentially hazardous materials. This position requires thorough working knowledge of technical, operative, and administrative methods and practices found within the biological repository industry. This position requires the ability to multi-task and work effectively with persons who have varying levels of experience and knowledge of repository practices.

　　Responsibilities

　　Coordinate repository operations and workflows across areas and various projects.

　　Task and monitor team members to ensure they properly complete their work assignments in a timely manner.

　　Ensure proper safety protocols are followed, materials and equipment are maintained, and inventory is properly stored to ensure viability when transferring and transporting materials. Document and report any incidents or accidents.

　　Assist with the inspection of incoming materials and materials prepared for shipment.

　　Maintain records of received goods, document deficiencies, address damaged or unsatisfactory conditions, and resolve incomplete or inaccurate information, as necessary.

　　Oversee that material and sample data are accurately entered and tracked in the organization’s inventory tracking system.

　　Ensure customer complaints are addressed properly and in a timely manner. Report all complaints and process deviations.

　　Address nonconformances and implement corrective and preventive actions in a timely manner. Recommend changes in protocols and procedures to Senior Management to develop/improve repository operations.

　　Train new technicians in the effective use of equipment, methods of storage and retrieval, and systematic data entry. Provide ongoing support, training and mentoring to team members.

　　Respond to emergencies outside of routine business hours, including timely travel to the site as part of the response team, as necessary.

　　Qualifications

　　Education and Experience:

　　High School diploma and 5 or more years' experience, including 0-2 years' supervisory experience or equivalent experience.

　　Staff hired for the NCI Central Repository Program must be eligible to able to obtain an NIH Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Card by submitting a Declaration of Federal Employment form within 60 days of employment.
