The Opportunity:
The Lead Process Engineer will be responsible for the development and implementation of process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity in the manufacturing process
How you will impact WestRock:
Designing and managing process flow of materials through manufacturing facilities to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards
Estimating the costs of new projects, updating existing processes with new technology, or switching materials suppliers based on price changes
Conducting research to identify new technologies that could improve efficiency in production processes
Monitoring production machinery to ensure that it is functioning properly and adjusting settings to improve efficiency
Developing standard operating procedures for all equipment used in the production process
Determining the best materials for each step in the production process based on their chemical makeup and physical properties
Monitoring workflow to make sure that it is moving smoothly and efficiently, adjusting as needed to meet production goals
Developing methods for recycling waste products generated by the manufacturing process
What you need to Succeed:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably chemical or mechanical engineering
10+ years of experience as a process engineer in a manufacturing environment
Proven track record of leading successful process improvement projects
In-depth knowledge of process engineering principles and practices
Working knowledge of quality control systems (ISO 9001, etc.) and safety standards (OSHA, etc.)
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal skill
Ability to collaborate in a multi-level operation to include maintenance, engineering, management, and vendors/contractors.
