It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent’s is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the system’s second-largest hospital. *Job Summary Specializes in preparation of Operating Room (OR) cases and efficiency in daily operations. Functions as the point person between the OR charge RN and the OR Supply Associates. Focuses on case picking, instrument and equipment availability in OR for cases and function as a liaison between the OR and Sterile Processing Distribution (SPD). Provides support to OR staff in obtaining necessary equipment to complete cases. Strong knowledge base of OR equipment and instrumentation needed for OR cases. Leads staff on a daily basis to prioritize departmental needs and lead OR efficiencies. Responsibilities: * Assist Manager train, educate and mentor new hires and junior staff * Responsible for ensuring equipment is available and preference cards are correct. Ensure OR room are set up and prepared for the correct case. Trouble shoots and finds alternatives to issues. ARCC up concerns related to any conflicts related to the case * Provide real time and continuing education and training to staff on OR Equipment and Instrumentation * Liason between OR rooms, SPD and OR Charge Desk. Communicates equipment needs/issues and/or changes to OR schedules or procedures * Responsible for OR cases picking and ensured accuracy * Create staffing assignments and ensures proper OR coverage * Perform spot audits/real time feedback to the OR Supply Associate team * Perform other related duties as required Experience * 2 years’ experience with OR equipment and instrumentation Preferred Experience: * * O2 Transport *Licensure / Certification / Registration: * Certified in CPR. Education: * High school degree or equivalent.
