  The opportunity

  The digital mobile team is building out the capabilities required to enable Manulife to deliver a successful, high quality product and services to our customers. As a Lead Mobile Software Engineer on the digital mobile team, you will bring your expertise on mobile development to our existing and new applications. You will help drive the design and enhancements of new customer experiences, including product offering and high quality services to our customers. You will collaborate with the product team, multiple technology teams at Manulife and third party vendors.

  Responsibilities

  Lead Digital Mobile Squad

  Builds, codes, tests, maintain high quality software

  Participates in Agile sprints and ceremonies; supports rapid iteration and development

  Translates user requirements into software requirements

  Responsible for designing and building mobile applications, handling testing and managing app versions and updates

  Accepts and modifies specifications and standards

  Builds and codes complex software

  Manages portions of development project

  Coaches teammates at lower levels

  Contributes code across Division

  Has positive impact to specific organizational entities & understands nature of impact

  What we are looking for

  Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent

  A minimum of 8+ years of experience in Mobile application development

  Must have 4+ years of strong hands-on experience with React Native development to deliver cross-platform mobile native apps with IOS & Android

  Experience in developing reusable components for mobile native development using ReactJS, React Hooks, Redux, JavaScript, ES6, Typescript, HTML and CSS along with a strong knowledge of React-redux

  Experience with native app platform capabilities and APIs

  Experience with mobile-oriented DevOps Pipelines

  Good work ethic, self-starter, and results oriented

  Excellent communication skills are essential, with strong verbal and writing proficiencies

  Exposure to iOS (Swift, Objective C) OR Android (Android SDK, Android Studio, Gradle, Java, Kotlin)

  Familiar with CI/CD build pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitHub Merging and Branching

  Salary & Benefits

  The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

  Primary Location

  CAN, Ontario - Full Time Remote

  Salary range is expected to be between

  $107,730.00 CAD - $200,070.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
