Job Description
This engineering position requires the ability to design interconnect solutions (for small form factor radios to large 19” rack enclosures) for power distribution, RF, communication and high-speed data signal. Responsibilities include all aspects of interconnect design, including the selection of the cables components (connectors, backshells, wire, shielding, sleeving), cable routing & cable management, and the ability to design to meet environmental, signal integrity, EMC/EMI, and other manufacturing requirements. Successful candidates will be members of a highly motivated, multi-disciplined, cross-functional design engineering team chartered specifically to champion interconnect engineering.
Basic Qualifications:
9 years relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline; 7 years of relevant experience with a Masters’s degree; 13 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with NX or a similar 3D CAD application
Experience with Teamcenter or a similar PLM application
Experience with Capital Logic or a similar schematic capture application
Experience with specifications such as SAE AS50881, MIL-STD 810, MIL-STD-461, and DO-160
Knowledge of commonly used signal types such as RS232, RS422, RS485, Audio, Ethernet, Fiber Optic Single Mode and Multi-Mode and High Frequency RF is strongly desired.
Experience with EVMS (Earned Value Management System)
Experience with Design to Cost (DTC), Design for Supply Chain (DfSC), and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA)
Experience with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
Experience designing and documenting interconnect solutions (i.e. multi-conductor cables, fiber optic cables, RF cables, high speed data cables)
