Amentum is seeking a Lead Industrial HVAC Technician for our operations and maintenance team in Atlanta, GA
Typical work schedule is Monday – Friday 6:30am-3:00pm hours may vary based on business demand.
This position reports directly to the Area Facility Manager and is responsible for performing tasks at an advanced level that reflect substantial variety and complexity in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive maintenance on the industrial or commercial HVAC equipment. This position will lead a team of five(5) technicians giving work direction and assistance to lower-level technicians.
The Lead Industrial HVAC Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining HVAC equipment and systems for a large commercial facility. Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on temperature, humidity, and pressurization issues.
Essential Functions:
Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair heating and ventilation equipment, pumps, fans, chillers, dryers, compressors, and other mechanical equipment as necessary.
Utilize the building automation system to track and adjust building conditions and the operation of facilities equipment.
Assist lower-level technicians with work assignments and coach as appropriate.
Provide input to work instructions for equipment and recommend improvements to equipment reliability/performance.
Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC controls and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Utilize strong mechanical and electrical skills to complete assignments.
Respond and provide service and feedback to the customer on all assigned work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Understand company policies and safely perform functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as task hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, and wearing PPE as required.
Operate various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions.
Understand and apply basic theory of refrigeration systems.
Work with Microsoft Office software (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point).
Ability to read and understand repair manuals, specifications, drawings, and schematic diagrams.
Ability to analyze problems, recommend solutions and initiate repairs.
High attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Friendly, cooperative, customer service-minded attitude; team player.
Must be self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
Ability to work with little or no direction at times.
Flexible in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.

Minimum Requirements :
High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
Six years of experience as an HVAC/R maintenance technician in an industrial or commercial environment or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
Air conditioning and refrigeration experience.
EPA Universal certification or ability to obtain within one year.
Additional Information:

This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
Physical Requirements:
Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.
Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.
Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Special Requirements:
Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
